This is the final design for The Old Animator, I wanted to create somebody different from the original design as I didn't think he looked both old enough and from an earlier time, I want there to be a huge age gap between the young animator and the old animator, age wise and appearance wise. As Max is to represent a 1930s animated character, I wanted the old man to represent an animator from the 1930s, rather than just a generic grandpa character. I personally prefer this character, however I did a few colour tests and asked for the opinion on 30 Games and Animation students at Rotherham College of Arts and Technology, after a small debate we decided on one of the colours, as it appeared washed out and represented the time he is around well, below was the colour tests I showed them:
